Scrabble Cheat

Looking for a Scrabble cheat? TilePlayCoach can analyze a board and show high-scoring legal moves — with the reason each one scores what it does, rather than just a word and a number.

What this actually does

You give it the board and your seven tiles. It generates every legal placement, scores each one against the real premium squares, and ranks them by what they score this turn. Nothing is guessed and nothing is invented: if a play exists, it is in the list, and pressing Explain score shows the arithmetic behind it.

There are two ways in. The solver takes a board you type, and the screenshot solver reads one from a picture of your game so you do not have to.

What it does not do

It does not connect to any Scrabble app, read your games, automate turns, or touch an account. It has no access to anything except the board you type or the screenshot you choose to open, and both are processed on your device and never uploaded. If you were looking for something that plays for you, this is not that.

It also does not read your opponent’s rack, because nothing can. What it can do is tell you which tiles are still unseen, which is the legitimate version of the same information and is on the solver page beside the results.

The more useful thing to do with it

Solvers make you better at the game if you use them afterwards rather than during. Play your turn, then run the position through the move analyzer: it shows what you played, what was available, and where the gap came from. Most players find the same blind spot three games running — usually parallel plays, the two-letter hooks, or simply not checking for a bingo — and naming it is most of the fix.

Practice mode is the same engine with the answer hidden, which is the version that actually changes how you play.

On whether to use it mid-game

Against the computer, or on your own game afterwards, it is study. Against a person who believes you are playing unaided, it is not, and no amount of framing changes that. It is your call and we would rather say so plainly than pretend the question does not exist.

Common questions

Is this against the rules?

That depends on your opponent, not on us. Using it on your own finished games to see what you missed is study; using it mid-game against a person who thinks you are not is a decision you are making about them. In tournament play under NASPA or WESPA rules it is straightforwardly not allowed.

Does it connect to any Scrabble app or account?

No. There is no connection to Hasbro, Mattel, or any Scrabble app of any kind. It reads only the board you type in or the screenshot you open, both on your own device.

Is it free?

Yes, and there is no account. The site is paid for by the ads on it.

Will it find every move?

Every legal move its dictionary knows, yes — it generates placements rather than searching a shortlist. What it cannot promise is that the official Scrabble dictionary agrees with its dictionary on every word, because that list is proprietary.

Word validity is checked against ENABLE, an open reference dictionary. Word acceptance may vary from the current official Scrabble dictionary. TilePlayCoach is an independent word-game helper and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the owners of the Scrabble trademark.
